To Purchase an Emulsion Well

There are three sizes of emulsion wells -

  1. Small
fits a 9 inch puddle pusher with an approximately 6 inch emulsion path.
  2. Medium
fits a 9 inch puddle pusher with about a 7 inch emulsion path.
  3. Large
fits a 12 inch puddle pusher with about a 10-1/2 inch emulsion path.
(Note: The 9 inch puddle pusher is usually sold as '8x10' and the 12 inch as '11x14'.)

Each well order also includes a cleaning brush, a monoject syringe, a 35cc syringe, a small funnel and a small dropper bottle of Photoflo 600.

It is my recommendation that you start with the smallest emulsion cavity.  This will reduce the costs of the learning curve.  I think the smaller variety will always be useful for testing new emulsions or papers and that both the small and large wells have a place in the tool box.  But, if you choose to have only one well, you can trade in your small one (in A+ condition, of course) for a larger one, for only the shipping costs.

All blades are 100 USD.  Within the Continental USA, shipping is $5. (i.e. the total cost is $105 ) If you live outside the Lower 48, contact me at 'editor at thelightfarm dot com' with your address.  I'll find out the shipping and get back to you with the total cost.
