Ortho Has Landed!

Some things are just plain easier than you'd expect. Apparently, making orthochromatic emulsion is one of them. Probably shouldn't be a total surprise. Josef Eder made the first soon after gelatin dry plates came onto the commercial market.

Anyway, the negatives are dry and I'm scanning and pulling together a tutorial page. Also have promised Spouse a 'real weekend'. I probably won't get the details posted until Monday. In the meantime, here's some background reading — authentic antique mildew and all.
